Strengthening the National Identity of Moldova within the EU association process
The project seeked to strengthen the process of national identity-building in Moldova, starting from the regional level and framing it in the context of the EU-Association process. The aim was to involve the ethnically and geopolitically divided population of Moldova and its minorities into a debate on the self-understanding and the value system of a future Moldovan nation and accordingly formulate policy recommendations, since a successful reform policy within the context of the EU Association process cannot be achieved without a successful nation-building process.
This project was implemented by the Institut für Europäische Politik (IEP) together with its partners, Institute for Strategic Initiatives (IPIS) and the Institute for European Policies and Reforms (IPRE), kindly supported by the German Federal Foreign Office.
Project implementation period: April – December 2017
