Transnistrian Dialogues: meeting with diplomats and practical knowledge about media
The new session of the second edition of the Transnistrian Dialogues Programme, implemented by
IPIS with the support of the United Nations Development Programme in Moldova, was dedicated
to a meeting of its young participants with EU Ambassador Peter Michalko, UNDP Head Dima Al-
Khatib and well-known journalists from the country.
The young participants from both banks of the Dniester River had the opportunity to ask questions
to the head of the EU delegation to Moldova, Peter Michalko, and the head of the UNDP mission,
Dima Al-Khatib. The guests of the meeting willingly shared their experience within the Chatam
House format.
At the same time, journalist and TV presenter Natalia Morar participated in the meeting, telling
about how to create media with donors support in an unfavourable political context.
Media expert and journalist from Transnistria Nata Scurtul held an interactive theory session with
the young participants in order to better know and understand the world of media.
At the invitation of IPIS, a team from the authoritative online publication Newsmaker.md also joined
the Transnistrian dialogues. Its editor-in-chief Galina Vasilieva and creative editor Evgeniy Sholari
focused on fake-news, explaining how it works and why fake-news is difficult to fight.

with media, sharing with the participants of the Dialogues practical skills for high-quality interaction
with journalists.
The Transnistrian Dialogues is a program of the Institute for Strategic Initiatives designed to reduce
