A new edition of the #CAPACITY4EU Policy Dialogue was held on February 8th in Ciadîr-Lunga, bringing together young people and local public authorities. The event, organized in partnership with the Center for Civic Initiatives for National Minorities, provided a platform for open discussions on the challenges and opportunities Moldova faces on its path to European Union accession.
The Exchange Lab, an event dedicated to civil society representatives from Germany and the Republic of Moldova, took place in Chisinau on 12 December. The exchange contributed to an informed dialogue about the Republic of Moldova in the areas of EU communication, migration, foreign policy and countering disinformation. It also offered the opportunity for further networking between German and Moldovan civil society.

During #NEXT4EU exchange visit, which took place during 11-13 June, Moldovan delegates spoke with members of the German Bundestag, German political foundations, Think Tanks, pro-European civil society organisations, as well as the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
The Institute for European Policies and Reforms (IPRE) and the Institute for Strategic Initiatives (IPIS) launched, on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, during a public event, the social campaign “Protect the future”, which aims to create the resilience of young families in the Republic of Moldova to the existing wave of disinformation.
On 28 April, the Republic of Moldova marks ten years since the liberalisation of the visa regime with the European Union. During these 10 years, 2,156,882 citizens of the Republic of Moldova have travelled without a visa, using biometric passports, to the Schengen area, making 31,248,082 trips, i.e. an average of more than 15 trips per person over 10 years. At the same time, Moldovans financially avoided expenses of at least 270 million euro, which they would have had to pay for visa procedures.
The fifth NEXT4EU policy dialogue on April 12, 2024, was dedicated to two crucial issues for the future EU integration of Moldova. Firstly, the collaboration between civil society organisations and the government. Secondly, the plans to hold a constitutional referendum on EU integration on the same day as the presidential elections in October of this year.
The human resource crisis in public institutions is an acute problem. First of all, this crisis is manifested in the large number of vacant positions. Recruitment and retention of qualified staff is a problem that will also affect the speed of EU accession negotiations.
