„Republic of Moldova needs substantial financial support to address rising poverty risks”. Public appeal to the international community ahead of the donors’ conference in Bucharest

The Republic of Moldova is facing a perfect storm composed of rising energy and food prices, high inflationary expectations ahead of the winter season when gas prices reach maximum highs, war at the border that skyrocketed logistic costs, disrupted value-chains and induced huge uncertainty among firms, households and the government, along with draught and stagnation or even recession for this year. On the background of this difficult environment, the country received a clear European perspective in the form of EU candidate status as a sign of support and credit of trust from the European Union for a series of important reform commitments of the government that are yet to be delivered in such areas as justice, fight against corruption, public administration, state-owned enterprises, and macro-financial stability. Moldova also received important financial assistance from the IMF, EU, and other development partners and, as a result, the massive deficit of about 1 billion EUR planned for 2022 will be financed exclusively from external financial support.

Aceasta a sporit reziliența țării în contextul crizelor ce au urmat pe plan energetic, pandemic și de securitate.

ANALYSIS AND STRATEGY FOR INCREASING RESILIENCE TO DISINFORMATION IN THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA

In this study we examined both the form, the mechanisms of fake news and manipulation, and how it affects social, economic and political processes in the country. An important aspect was the analysis of the phenomenon of disinformation depending on the source, internal or external. Also, in this study we paid increased attention to the suggestions, changes that need to be made in order to make the Republic of Moldova more resistant to disinformation. This study was conducted as part of the #inforMD project – against disinformation in the Republic of Moldova, implemented in 2021 by The Institut für Europäische Politik based in Berlin (IEP) in partnership with the Institute for Strategic Initiatives of Moldova (IPIS) and the Institute for European Policies and Reforms of Moldova (IPRE) with the support of the German Federal Foreign Office. STUDY: ASSESSMENT of the HEALTH ASSESSMENT IN THE ELECTORAL PROGRAMS OF POLITICAL PARTIES IN THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA

This study contains the analysis of the health care electoral offers of the political parties participating in the 2021 parliamentary elections, as well as practical recommendations for their implementation. All electoral programs were analyzed in the light of the main strategic documents for the development of the health system. The extent to which the parties’ electoral commitments were formulated in accordance with the national strategic directions in the field of health were also examined. This study, developed in the framework of the project “Visions of the main political parties on the development of the health sector”, implemented with the financial support of Soros Foundation Moldova/Public Health Department, provides an analysis of the electoral offers, carried out contextually and quantitatively within the limits of the texts formulated by the participants in the electoral campaign, with the elaboration of practical recommendations for actions to implement them in the short, medium and long term.
