#informMD – against misinformation in the Republic of Moldova

The project aims at strengthening resilience against disinformation in the Republic of Moldova with capacity building measures for civil society. In addition, the project is focused on the mutual exchange of experience and expertise with Germany and other EU countries as well as the EaP countries.

The project is implemented by The Institut für Europäische Politik based in Berlin (IEP) in partnership with the Institute for Strategic Initiatives of Moldova (IPIS) and the Institute for European Policies and Reforms of Moldova (IPRE) with the support of the German Federal Foreign Office.

Project implementation period: April – December 2021

Journalists will continue IPIS’ work in investigating the use of budget funds intended to combat COVID-19

A group of journalists took part in a preliminary presentation of the IPIS analysis on the process of managing the foreign funds received by the Moldovan government to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

IPIS’ analysis: In the midst of pandemic, the Government raised one-third of planned grant assistance

International loans provided in 2020 to Moldova by external partners kept the country’s budget afloat. In the form of loans, Moldova received 418 million euros, while non-repayable assistance amounted to about 33 million euros.

Media course for young people was launched as part of the project “#informMD – against misinformation in the Republic of Moldova”

Institute for Strategic Initiatives (IPIS) in partnership with Institut für Europäische Politik based in Berlin (IEP) and Institute for European Politics and Reform (IPRE) have launched a media course for young people, which is held within the project “infoMD – against misinformation in Moldova”.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS: A QUALIFIED EVENT MANAGEMENT COMPANY TO PROVIDE LOGISTICAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT WITHIN THE PROJECT “TRANSNISTRIAN DIALOGUES”

The Institute for Strategic Initiatives (IPIS) is a Moldovan NGO established in 2017, uniting professionals with diverse views. IPIS works to address Moldova’s strategic development challenges from a non-political, non-partisan perspective. IPIS expertise covers five areas: good governance; conflict settlement and inter-ethnic consolidation; public involvement and participatory government; communications; IPIS is currently implementing the United Nations Development Program – “Transnistrian dialogues II”. The purpose of the project is to foster a constructive engagement between experts, young activists, civil society and opinion leaders from Moldova and its Transnistrian region and the autonomous region of Gagauzia, to reduce tensions, increase mutual trust and understanding by setting up a permanent platform, thus laying the ground for a more consensus-based settlement process of the conflict and exercising upward influence. Implementation period July 2021 – January 2022. Transnistrians dialogues: women’s edition

The main goal of the project is to increase the role of women in peace building and conflict prevention and resolution in Moldova. Women from both the right and left bank of the Dniester River take part in the project. During the implementation period several seminars/workshops and discussion sessions are organized on-line, including a final high-level conference.

The programme is implemented with the support of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Ireland and Belgian Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation.

Concurs pentru contractarea serviciilor de producere a 4 spoturi video și un spot animat

Institutul pentru Inițiative Strategice (IPIS) este o organizație neguvernamentală din Republica Moldova, fondată în 2016 de un grup de profesioniști cu o vastă experiență în gestionarea treburilor publice. IPIS lucrează pentru a aborda provocările de dezvoltare strategică ale Moldovei dintr-o perspectivă nepolitică. Expertiza IPIS acoperă patru domenii: guvernare eficientă; rezolvarea conflictelor și consolidarea relațiilor interetnice; societate incluzivă și participare civică; comunicare strategică și media. IPIS implementează în prezent proiectul “Promovarea coeziunii sociale în Moldova prin studierea limbilor române și găgăuze în Unitatea Teritorială Autonomă Găgăuz-Yeri”, finanțat de Ambasada Olandei și Fundația SOROS Moldova. Durata proiectului: 9 luni (ianuarie 2021- septembrie 2021). Scopul general al proiectului este de a sprijini conservarea limbii și culturii găgăuze și de a reduce decalajul cultural și lingvistic, precum și neîncrederea crescândă între Găgăuz-Yeri și restul Moldovei. Descrierea sarcinii IPIS urmează să contracteze un prestator de servicii (o persoană fizică sau companie) pentru producerea a 4 spoturi video și un spot animat. Perioada de implementare a contractului: 09 iulie 2021 – 10 septembrie 2021. Prestatorul de servici va realiza următoarele sarcini de bază: Elaborarea și coordonarea conceptului și a scenariului a 4 spoturi video și a unui spot animat. Producerea a 4 spoturi video și a unui spot animat în limba română/rusă cu subtitrare în limba rusă/română, cu durata de până la 2 minute. Concurs pentru selectarea a doi experți pentru elaborarea studiului “Viziunile principalelor partide politice asupra dezvoltării sectorului sănătate”

IPIS implementează în prezent proiectul “Viziunile principalelor partide politice asupra dezvoltării sectorului sănătate”, finanțat de Fundația Soros Moldova.
Scopul general al proiectului este analiza, sistematizarea și prezentarea publică a politicilor în domeniul sănătății cu care vin partidelor politice, numitor comun între principalele forțe politice cu referire la politicile strategice în domeniul sănătății.

Promoting social cohesion in Moldova through the study of Gagauz and Romanian languages in Gagauz-Yeri autonomous territorial unit

The overall goal of the project is to support the preservation of the Gagauz language and culture, as well as, through the study of the state language, to promote the maximum involvement of the inhabitants of the Gagauz-Yeri autonomy in social processes and in governing the country. For this purpose, we have created a wide expert platform with the participation of specialists from Gagauzia, Chisinau and from abroad, we conduct focus groups and in-depth interviews, work on creating a road map for improving the study and functioning of the Gagauz and Romanian languages in the ATU Gagauz-Yeri.

Funding for this project is provided by the Embassy Office of the Netherlands in Moldova and the Soros Foundation Moldova.

Project implementation period: January 2021 – September 2021.

The composition of IPIS’s team has changed

Dear colleagues, the composition of the Institute for Strategic Initiatives team has changed. The Board has approved Vladislav Kulminski’s resignation request as IPIS President. This position will remain vacant. Recall that IPIS includes executive directors Vadim Pistrinciuc and Inna Shupak, project coordinators Victoria Olari and Marina Tabarna, as well as media consultant Maria Levcenco.
